As China's first commercial remote sensing satellite company, Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. has persistently exerted efforts in satellite development and data exploitation since 2024. It drives industrial innovation through technological innovation, constantly shaping new development momentum and advantages: building the world's largest sub-meter commercial remote sensing satellite constellation, achieving China's first ultra-high-speed inter-satellite laser communication, releasing the world's first high-definition global annual one-map, successfully developing and launching the internationally lightest ultra-wide sub-meter optical remote sensing satellite. New qualitative productivity has formed in practice and demonstrated strong driving and supporting power for high-quality development, providing confidence and backing for the rapid development of China's commercial space industry.
In 2024, Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. cumulatively developed and launched 31 various types of satellites, including 9 constellation networking satellites such as "Jilin-1" Wide 02B and Platform 02A03. The successful orbit of "Jilin-1" GF-05B signifies the fourth technical leap in the integrated whole-satellite design and manufacturing technology of Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., with its ultra-high resolution better than 0.5m refreshing the new record of Chinese commercial satellites. The batch production and successful launch of 6 Wide 02 series satellites significantly enhanced the high-resolution data acquisition capabilities of the constellation. The first microwave remote sensing satellite of "Jilin-1"—SAR01A—was successfully launched, effectively ensuring the constellation's all-time, all-weather Earth observation capabilities.
As of now, the "Jilin-1" constellation has 117 satellites in orbit. As the largest remote sensing satellite constellation in China, it can revisit any point on the globe 38-40 times a day, with the ability for global coverage six times a year and nationwide coverage once every half-month. It holds a dominant position in remote sensing information services and is gradually becoming a significant global source of space remote sensing information.
With the continuous improvement in temporal and spatial resolution of the "Jilin-1" constellation, the amount of data generated is geometrically increasing. As an important data source for the entire downstream application market, the traditional satellite-ground microwave data transmission link has become a bottleneck due to its slow speed and limited bandwidth. Laser communication, characterized by high bandwidth, low latency, and good security, has become one of the best solutions for ultra-high-speed massive data transmission.

By early 2024, Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., using its self-developed Jilin-1 satellite and vehicle-mounted laser communication ground station, successfully completed 10 Gbps satellite-ground laser communication and 100 Gbps inter-satellite high-speed laser communication experiments. The bit error rate was zero during stable link-building, and high-resolution remote sensing images were successfully transmitted inter-satellite, marking China's first realization of business application for ultra-high-speed inter-satellite laser communication. Thus, Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. has fully mastered satellite-ground and inter-satellite high-speed laser communication technology, established a space high-speed laser data transmission network test system, and provided a solid technical foundation for constructing an integrated space-ground laser communication network. This also lays a solid foundation for expanding China's satellite-ground communication system from microwave to laser.
Unlike the traditional high-end space technology, Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. has essentially formed a multi-level remote sensing industry layout aimed at the "consumer" level. In April 2024, Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. launched China's first "remote sensing + AI" APP—"Jilin-1 Net," embedded with the 2024 nationwide high-definition one-map. It fully leverages "remote sensing + AI" core productivity based on the remote sensing AI large model and massive remote sensing data. Up to now, "Jilin-1 Net" has over 130,000 registered users, with online usage of slice image data exceeding 20 billion times, effectively enabling industry users to fully explore the potential value of "Jilin-1" data and accelerating the growth of the space information industry "Hundred Flowers Garden."
